Custom Orthotics
85 per cent of the population have abnormal foot mechanics. Combine this with lack of proper care, ill fitting shoes and general foot neglect, and you can easily understand why our feet need better care and support.
It is important to understand that your feet have a direct impact on the rest of your body. A small abnormality in foot function can have a large impact on the joints that are located higher up in the body. It can also have a major impact on various internal body functions.
One 1988 study revealed that wearing orthotics lowers blood pressure, slows the heart rate and increases stamina. This occurs even in people with general good health and no history of foot or leg problems! So it’s clear that orthotics and proper shoe fit are very important aspects of your overall health.
When you order custom orthotics, you will undergo a thorough biomechanical evaluation and consultation using the TOG Gait Scan system. This system measures the distribution of force throughout your foot during each step, identifying high-pressure areas and gait abnormalities.
This system is equipped with enough sensors and speed to accurately graph pressures exerted during the stance phase of the gait cycle during both walking and running. This new information, along with a 3D sub-talar neutral cast, allows Dr Forsythe to provide patients with the most complete assessment possible for custom made orthotics.
The TOG Gait Scan is the most technologically advanced gait analysis system available for its price and it has been designed to provide all the information necessary to create the best orthotic possible for your needs.
